Contacts Blast v1.8 / Contacts Blast Lite v1.4

Today we released Contacts Blast v1.8 and Contacts Blast Lite v1.4.

This latest update of Contacts Blast consists of more performance enhancements (quicker load time) and some minor bug fixes.

We’ve also added a new tab on main screen to get to the dialer (instead of pressing Menu button).We’re glad that we did not have to make any adjustments to the application because of Android OS 1.5. Everything worked without any glitch but if you are experiencing any issues please contact us at droidmatic.support@gmail.com. If you have an unhacked phone and official OS our application should run without any problems.

In case you haven’t noticed OS 1.5 also introduces an on screen keyboard which works very well with Contacts Blast. Here are few screenshots of the updates.

Contacts Blast Update

In this release we have sped up the scrolling in speed dial page and also in gallery at the bottom screen. There should be no noticeable lag anymore.

Contacts Blast v1.4

We’re excited to release major feature enhancements to Contacts Blast. We thank you all for your feedback and support. If you like our application please don’t forget to rate us and spread the word.
These are the additional features in Contacts Blast v1.4

1) Blast SMS

With Blast SMS, you will be able to send text messages to not one person at a time but to all contacts in a group. Go to Group Selector page (where all of your groups are displayed).

Long click on the group, select Blast Sms.

Type your message and hit send. It’s that simple.

2) Blast Email

Similar to Blast SMS, you will be able to send email to all contacts in a group. Go to Group Selector page and long click on the group. Select Blast Email. Type your message and hit send.

3) List View or Icon View ?

We’ve introduced a new view that displays phone numbers as a list.

By default, portrait view is set as list view and landscape view is set as icon view. You can see which view you like and select the view you prefer by going to Preferences.

To change views, go to Menu–>More–> Preferences (or Menu+p). If you want to set your portrait view as Icon view click on Portrait View, select Icon View and hit Ok.

4) Color Background or Desktop Picture Background?

We’ve also added an option to use your default desktop picture as Contacts Blast wallpaper or pick a color to be used as a wallpaper. To pick a color as a wallpaper go to

Menu–> More –> Preferences (Menu + p). Select Color Wallpaper.

Roll your finger around the outer circle to pick a color of your choice when done either hit back or click on center circle.

Contacts Blast v1.3 Released

We’ve implemented some of the features requested by you. In version 1.3 of Contacts Blast, we offer

1) Search feature

On contact detail page (main screen), start typing and a list of contacts will be displayed on a drop down list. The search is performed on first and last name.

2) Launch Contacts Blast by pressing Green Call button

This feature allows you to launch Contacts Blast when you press the green Call button from the desktop.

When you first press Green call button you will be presented with an option to set Contacts Blast as a default launcher. Select “Use by default for this action” checkbox and launch “Contacts Blast” from the menu. Now, every time you press Green call button Contacts Blast will be launched.

To undo this behavior, from desktop
Menu–>Settings–>Applications–>Manage Applications–>Contacts Blast–>Clear Defaults.

3) Preferences

If you do not use any of the additional icons (SMS, Email, Edit Contact) on contacts detail page you can turn them off. When Contacts Blast is launched go to Menu–>More–>Preferences (or Menu + p)
Selecting a checkbox will show the respective icon.

4) Group based speed dial

Group based speed dial enables you to quickly dial your contact’s default phone number. Create groups and click on speed dial icon to quickly see list of contacts in that group. Press your contact’s picture to dial his/her default number. You can create multiple groups like Restaurants, Family, Friends, Co-Workers and quickly access contacts in each group.

New groups can be created by clicking on Menu–>Manage Groups from main screen.

Contacts Blast v1.1 Release

We had more than one user complain about scrolling being too slow and non responsive.  This was the only reason why they chose not to continue using our application so we looked at it. Sure enough there was some delay. We’ve fixed this issue and released a new version of Contacts Blast today. We’ve had very positive response. The scrolling is very fast.

Contacts Blast v 1.0 Released on Android Marketplace

We released v1.0 of Contacts Blast earlier today. We hope you will like it.  We’re scrambling to put all pieces of the puzzle together.
