Contacts Blast v1.7 and Contacts Blast Lite v1.3 Released
In past few releases we focused on performance aspect of the application. In this release, we are bringing out new exciting features like:
TODO: Get screenshots and explain
1) Group Ringtone
This feature allows you to set a ringtone to all contacts in a group.
Q: What if I have same person in two or more groups?
A: The last ringtone that was set to a group will be used for that contact.
E.g. Susan is a doctor and a friend. She is in your “Doctors” and “Friends” group. You assigned ringtone “A” to “Doctors” group and ringtone “B” to “Friends” group. When Susan calls you’ll hear ringtone B, because that’s the last ringtone you set for the group that Susan was in.
You can always go back to the old school way of setting ringtones manually for each contact. This feature is by request for users who wanted the ability to set ringtone to large number of contacts in a group.
Note: At this time once you set a ringtone, when you go back to modify the ringtone it does not show the last ringtone that you picked. We are aware of this issue and working on ways to overcome this limitation.
Here’s how you can set a group ringtone in Contacts Blast:
- Long press on a group. You’ll see a screen like this. Select Group Ringtone and pick a ringtone of your choice.
2) SMS Notification Pop Up
Did you wish your incoming SMS messages popped up?
This is exactly what this feature does. You will see your SMS messages in a window (See screenshot below). You could either Reply, Dismiss (or ignore) or send Auto Response With Busy Message (E.g. I’m busy now). The auto response with busy message can be set on Preference section which is explained in next section (SMS Auto Response).
You can turn this feature ON/OFF through Preference. Select Enable SMS Notification Preferences checkbox from Preferences to enable this feature.
3) SMS Auto Response
When SMS message pops up you have an option to reply the user with a default message (E.g. I’m busy now). You can change the message to anything you like through Preference page.
Here’s how you can set the auto response message.
1) Go to Preferences and click SMS auto response message
2) A window will pop up with a textbox. Type your default message and you’re done.
4) Preference to control Quick Dial on long click
By default when you scroll through your contact’s pictures and long click, it automatically dials the default number. This resulted in some users dialing accidentally. If you want this feature to be disabled you can do this by unchecking Enable Quick Dial checkbox from Preferences.
- Just in case you forgot, you can get to Preferences page by clicking on Menu–>More–> Preferences (or Menu+p).
Are all of these features available on Contacts Blast Lite as well ?
You can try all of these features in Lite version as well but when you send an auto response we attach our little note “Auto response message from Contacts Blast Lite. http://www.droidmatic.com”.
If you don’t like the message then please support us by purchasing our application. It’s well worth $2.99.
